We are thrilled to provide a new Continuing Education (CE) opportunity for healthcare professionals and others who are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in the area of respite.
Our REST Essentials® e-Course opens the door for more individuals to gain a strong command of the ten core competencies of respite, as defined by the National Respite Guidelines. The course is geared toward those who want to provide respite in a supervised group setting, such as adult day care and other drop-off programs.
Learners can take the course at their convenience, anytime and anywhere. Among the topics covered: what a family might need/expect when caring for their loved one, how to provide meaningful, goal-oriented experiences for care receivers, and how to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
We have launched our new e-course at a time when more than 90 million individuals in the U.S. provide care for a family member or loved one. Our latest learning option complements our other training courses: the two-day Train-the-Trainer course, eight-hour REST Companion course, and four-hour REST Essentials course.
Our REST Essentials e-course provides another example of how we are carrying out our mission of building networks of support for caregivers.
The Continuing Education Institute of Illinois has approved 1.5 (CE) hours for those who pass the program. To enroll in the REST Essentials e-course, visit: geroed.networkofcare4elearning.org. To confirm that the course provides CE credit for your profession in your state, email: email@example.com. The cost of the course is $29 with CE hours or $15 for those not seeking credit.
