October 19 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Respite is often described as the “gift of time.” Become a REST Companion™ (Respite Worker) and make a difference in someone’s life! REST is an originally designed educational course that provides respite training to adults and teens who want to offer care to those in need, and assistance to their caregivers. As a REST Companion (volunteer or paid), you give the gift of your time to provide a valuable service. You will spend one-on-one time with a child, adult or senior, giving only as much time as you are willing and able to give. This training is designed to provide participants the skills necessary to become a respite worker.
Participants must attend onsite for the full training. This training will not be available online. All manuals and materials will be provided. Breaks will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch. FAU CARD is excited to offer this opportunity!
